Substation Installation
A substation installation starts with measuring the site's grounding resistance.
Installation starts with a grounding measurement
The single-line diagram and layout plan take shape based on the power transformer's size and the number of HV cells. The grounding grid is laid first, followed by the foundation and cable ducts.
Before commissioning, each piece of equipment is tested separately; the transformer is checked for turns ratio and insulation resistance, while the cells go through function and insulation tests.
What's Included
- Single-line diagram and layout plan preparation
- Grounding grid laying
- Power transformer installation
- HV cell installation and busbar connection
- Cable termination work
- Commissioning tests
If the value measured in the turns-ratio test deviates from the nameplate value by more than 0.5 percent, commissioning doesn't proceed until the finding is resolved.
Frequently Asked Questions
Would you recommend a compact kiosk-type or a building-type substation?
The choice depends on the site's space constraints and environmental noise limits; both options are evaluated on a project basis.
How long does installation take?
It depends on the delivery time for the transformer and cells; site preparation and installation together can be completed within a few weeks.
How many days do the commissioning tests take?
Usually one to two days, with results reported within the same week.
